The Role: Lead Data Steward, Transcripts

The Location: Islamabad, Manila, Hyderabad

The Team: Data Stewardship is the process of managing information necessary to support the business and assuring data collected and produced is accessible and useable for decision-making and activity monitoring. Stewardship delivers functional business and data analysis capabilities driving requirements necessary for the development of internal and external applications and reporting. It addresses data collection synchronization, data accessibility, data availability, and data flexibility in a systematic manner for all data collected, used, and distributed by the business. Partnering with the Information Technology, Data and Product Management, Commercial and other related Data Services teams to leverage technical advancements to improve data management capabilities. This group may also support other functional teams (including internal Compliance & Control teams) with data research & analysis for regulators and other internal business stakeholders globally.

The Impact:

You will be working closely with Transcripts, one of the groups under Documents, Insights & Services within the Market Intelligence division. The team specializes in delivering transcription services using state-of-the-art voice-to-text tech capabilities and highly specialized group of internal experts. The successful candidate will work within the context of a cross-functional team aligned between Data Management, Operations Managers, Product and its support functions and Agile development teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the subject matter expert for a range of data analysis, technical evaluations, and research activities.

  • Leads data collation, analysis, extraction, and validation process through extensive research of data sets.

  • Analyzes errors and gaps in data sets and data quality and identifies solutions to fix issues.

  • Supports tech project management initiatives including new project creation and UAT testing.

  • Leads reporting process that supports business needs and assists managers to track data quality and platform performance on a recurring basis.

  • Supports operations or project teams in planning and implementing new tools/solutions across businesses.

  • Troubleshoots bugs in existing tools and platforms and escalates to appropriate stakeholders for resolution.

  • Liaises with data and technology teams globally to streamline the data/content management process workflow and ensures new processes are implemented and integrated without compromising data integrity.

  • Works in team across assigned business/region to evaluate workflow systems with a focus on improving process and functionality.

  • Tracks quantitative and qualitative metrics to measure process and/or content (in case of editorial operations) quality.

  • Provides fact-based interpretation and analysis of findings.

  • Serves as an industry expert by performing ongoing evaluation of voice-to-text technologies and market research to identify best-in-class solutions for the company and share inputs for internal tool enhancements.

  • Engages internal and external AI solution providers on POCs to identify best-in-class technology solutions. Supports with driving and implementing identified solutions.

  • Participates in and drives data quality, product, vendor and technology discussions as required.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Qualifications/ Skill Set:

  • Self-starter with innovative and effective problem-solving skills

  • Proven track record of successful delivery of complex projects, particularly in content-related domain

  • Work experience including data management in a financial market data intensive environment

  • Knowledge about backend infrastructure (tables/pipelines/etc.)

  • Good understanding of S&P Products such as Capital IQ Pro, Capital IQ, Excel Plug-In, feeds, etc.

  • Hands on experience in writing and developing SQL Queries (joins, exist/not-exist, group by, having, cast, etc.)

  • Ability to work collaboratively across segments and cultures

  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Excellent time management skills, ability to meet strict deadlines

  • Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications/ Skill Set:

  • Familiarity with Transcripts Dataset

  • Project Management/ AGILE Certification

  • Knowledge of at least one process automation/machine learning language like Blue Prism, Python, R, UiPath.

  • Working knowledge of Visualization Tools (Tableau, Power BI etc.)

  • 4-6 years of relevant work experience is preferred

  • Knowledge of MS suite applications is a must particularly SQL & Excel.

  • Knowledge of Voice-to-Text (transcription) technologies is preferred

  • Experience in project management is preferred
