Associate Director Sovereign and International Public Finance Ratings

We are looking for a highly skilled individual to join our Sovereign and International Public Finance (SovIPF) Ratings group as a senior analyst at the Associate Director level. The team s main focus is on fundamental economic and financial analysis of Housing Associations, Universities, Healthcare Sector, as well as local and regional governments, and of government-related entities in the UK, the Netherlands and Ireland.
The successful candidate will assume direct analytical responsibility for a portfolio of credits in the region, conducting site visits, preparing the analysis, and presenting a rating recommendation to committee. He - she is expected to make significant contribute to the group s outreach, research, and cross-portfolio publishing efforts, including interaction with the media, investors, and cooperation with other groups within S&P Global ratings.

Undertake rigorous research and analytical work, and write well-structured analytical reports.
Present detailed information, reasoned opinions, and a rating recommendation to our credit rating committees
Demonstrate analytical excellence and good presentation skills in front of internal and external audiences, to explain our credit rating opinions both internally as well as externally, to investors and the media.
Provide highest customer service standards, whilst adhering to established ratings criteria, methodology, policies and procedures.
Co-ordinate work across a number of teams within S&P Global
What We re Looking For:
Strong skills in comparative economic and financial analysis of in the public sector, in particular Housing Associations, Universities, Healthcare Sector, Local and Regional governments, and in financial markets in general.
Strong analytical mindset with proven ability to carry out economic and financial analysis in a cross-disciplinary context, and knowledge of public sector accounting principles.
Sound judgement and organisational skills.
Ability to drive cross-practice cooperation and projects in a diverse and international environment.
Advanced writing, communication, and presentation skills in English.
An advanced academic degree in economics or related fields such as business administration, finance or political science.
Strong and professional interpersonal skills.
Willingness to travel.
Work experience in UK Public sector, for example:*
roles in finance department in a UK Social Housing Association, or public sector regulators would be preferred.
- CFA charters, ACCA or other professional qualifications are not required but would be preferred.
