Credit Product Specialist

The Team:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Credit and Risk Solutions commercial Team, a focused and dynamic team with the opportunity to build on the last few years of significant growth and product development within the C&RS Business. The Credit Product Specialists’ mandate is to help Sales Specialists monetize and leverage SPGMI’s capabilities, by providing significant knowledge of credit capabilities including our quantitative market signal models and quantitative fundamentals-based models (PDs and LGDs), as well as qualitative credit assessment scorecards, research, and data, to serve our clients in managing complex credit risk management issues.

The Impact:

The C&RS business is a significant contributor to the overall growth of the Market Intelligence (MI) Division. The product suite is a critical piece of this growth story as the distribution channel for Ratings proprietary content and a provider of models and workflow tools to underpin the Credit Workflow for rated and unrated borrowers, counterparties, customers, and suppliers. The role of the Credit Product Specialist is critical to the success of the business. In an increasingly complex and competitive environment, credit products cannot be sold without the expertise of the Credit Product Specialist. These Specialists provide expertise and credibility to the sales and retention process. The role is therefore impactful and highly visible and, although heavily client-facing, is also beholden to many internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes relationships with Sales Specialists and Product Managers to help in diagnosing, distilling, designing and delivering credit workflow solutions specifically to the European market

  • Aligns with Commercial and Product strategy for credit products and executes high level pre-sales and post-sales implementation plans

  • Serves as a credit product matter expert across functional groups

  • Demonstrates excellence across SPGMI credit capabilities

  • Helping clients establish robust frameworks for integrating ESG factors into their Credit Assessment frameworks and understanding the potential impact of ESG on their credit portfolios

  • Develops campaigns and initiatives for driving revenue growth for segment-specific sales and assists in client retention work around credit products

  • Stays well connected to strategic credit customers in the market

  • Collaborates internally to help design and deliver credit training on appropriate product

  • Undertakes thought-leadership pieces, speakerships at relevant conferences and SPGMI credit webinars

  • Possesses keen awareness of competitors and relative strengths

  • Conducts Proof of Concepts, assists in RFPs and test cases for regulatory requirements such as IFRS9

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong grasp of credit risk management

  • In-depth understanding of complex client credit risk workflows ideally across multiple segments (Corporates, Commercial and Investment Banking, Insurance, and Investment Management)

  • Ability to interact confidently with the team, prospects and clients as well as cross-functional teams within the organization, i.e. Product Management, Education, Legal and Marketing

  • Ability to solve complex problems and, when necessary, adopt a new perspective using expert judgement

  • Possession of exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Self-motivated, with a strong desire to succeed and a positive outlook

  • Ability to work well under pressure and to multi-task

  • 5+ years relevant industry experience in credit and risk management

  • Someone strong in Excel and has credit modelling capabilities

  • Fluency in the German language is essential
