The Role:

Platts is looking for a regional manager to lead a team of pricing reporters in market engagement and content creation, with a particular focus on ferrous and non-ferrous derivatives markets in the EMEA region. Activity will center on the growing financial markets in steel raw materials and aluminum and on emerging steel and ferroalloys markets.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience in developing and driving commodity benchmark price adoption and be comfortable operating in a matrix environment.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibility will be developing and leading a team of price reporters as they engage with market participants, with a particular focus on ferrous and non-ferrous derivatives markets in the EMEA region; identifying target groups of key market participants and developing and executing targeted engagement plans in close cooperation with the regional content team.

Additionally, the candidate will be required to coordinate with exchanges and internal stakeholders on new metals derivatives listings and help drive awareness and growth of existing and new metals derivatives.

Secondary responsibilities will include developing plans for and implementing regional derivatives market content with the aim of driving benchmark adoption and growing derivatives usage in steel raw materials and aluminum and on emerging steel and ferroalloys markets.

Accountability includes:

  • Working with regional content team to develop and implement plans for regional market engagement

  • Leading regional team s derivatives content generation, as well as engagement with exchanges and financial players

  • Conducting joint meetings with regional content group members

  • Supporting exchanges in the development of new metals derivatives listings

  • Interacting with metals derivatives specialists in other regions

  • Speaking at high-level conferences and engaging with senior industry executives

Your skills:

  • Minimum of Bachelor s degree or similar level university degree

  • Proven metals industry experience, with a background in market development.

  • Ability to develop, set strategy and translate ideas into targets and clear action plans. Strong execution skills

  • Self-starter with the ability to motivate oneself and others

  • Proven strong interpersonal andrelationship-buildingskills and ability to influence at high levels within organizations

  • Ability to navigate a complex matrix structure and to overcome obstacles and maintain productive relationships across the organization in order to achieve business results

  • Possessing the energy, tenacity and ambition to excel within a diverse team previous experience managing a team is desirable

  • Solid understanding of economics principles and of risk management principles

  • Skilled at identifying improvements and efficiencies and implementing processes that continually promote productivity and quality improvements

    • Strong critical thinking skills and expert at problem - conflict resolution
  • Deep knowledge of the global commodity markets physical, exchange-traded and over-the-counter

  • Energy, tenacity and ambition to excel in a fast-paced environment

  • Relevant multi-lingual skills an advantage
