Position summary:

S&P Private Markets is looking for a Senior Salesperson based in London. The role will be responsible for SaaS based sales covering a multitude of Private Market strategies. The successful candidate will have experience in leading complex SaaS based sales process from opportunity origination to contractual negotiations at a Senior Executive level. The Private Markets Software Solutions organization within S&P is fast paced, highly collaborative and carries a high profile within S&P as a strategic growth division. Duties & accountabilities:

  • Driving and executing new business revenue by meeting and/or exceeding sales targets on a consistent basis

  • Development and execution of a sales strategy with an emphasis on prospecting and closing new logos

  • Relationship maintenance and development with key prospects and clients

  • Effective at building and maintaining a solid pipeline, developing proposals, structuring agreements and managing sophisticated relationships

  • Collaborate cross-functionally within and outside of the Private Markets Organization

  • Team player who is willing to work for the greater good

  • Strategic work and thinking with the Account Management team and the existing client base to identify new initiatives, partnership & revenue opportunities

  • Innate sense of Customer Service and pride in delivering the best client experience possible

Education and experience:

  • Years of experience 4-6+ Broad based experience with another software vendor at a mid-senior level with exposure to managing complex relationships and/or process’s

  • Knowledge and experience of Venture or PE markets preferred. Accounting background a plus

  • Managing complex sales process with $1M+ plus new revenue targets

  • Must be able to manage senior level meetings and navigate to senior level contacts at prospective clients

Sales Process Skills:

  • Consults with prospects based on knowledge of their business needs

  • Uses diagnostic questioning to identify multiple needs and the ripple effects

  • Guides a customer’s criteria in ways that favor our differentiators

  • Shapes an effective strategy to bear the competition

  • Prepares a persuasive presentation/proposal

  • Helps customers resolve their objections

  • Deals with customer negotiating tactics

Selling Skills:

  • Listens to and connects with customers

  • Can identify what step of buying a customer is in

  • Keeps customers moving forward through their buying process

  • Makes connections with more than one decision maker in an account

  • Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal required for complex commercial and business discussions

  • Team player and willing to progress in a rapidly changing environment
