The Team: Our newsroom is dedicated to delivering readers actionable news on financial markets around the world. You will have the opportunity to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and to develop a close team dynamic with co-workers from around the globe.

The Impact: The Newswriter plays an essential role in writing and publishing top-quality news stories that reach an audience of decision-makers. You will have the opportunity to hone your writing skills, work with S&P Global’s extensive in-house data sets and gain industry knowledge in specific business sectors.

Responsibilities

• Writing news briefs and daily/weekly features based on press releases and company filings.

• Identifying storylines and writing data-driven stories leveraging S&P Global’s extensive in-house data sets

• Analyzing data, identifying trends and creating charts/graphics

• Vetting company websites, stock exchange feeds, newswires and other sources to gather and monitor information.

• Build a network of industry experts, and seek comment from them for stories

• Increasing your own industry knowledge, drawing on in-house training tools and other resources

• Collaborating with journalists across the globe

What We’re Looking For

• A proactive attitude and a keen eye for detail.

• Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.

• A strong interest in business news, and data journalism

Requirements

• A Bachelor's/College Degree, Journalism, Economics, Finance/Accountancy/Banking, Mass Communications or equivalent.

• At least 3 years of business news writing experience, preferably working with data sets

• A high-level grasp of English language grammar.

• Outstanding communication skills

• Open to working in a hybrid setup, both at home and on site

• Open to working the following shifts: 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM
