S&P Global Latin America- Country Risk Analyst in Mexico City, Mexico

The role: As country risk analyst you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive research and analysis on political, economic, and security risks in the region. Your insights and recommendations will play a crucial role in supporting our clients' decision-making processes and helping them navigate the complexities of the Latin American market. You will collaborate with a team of experts to produce high-quality reports and deliver timely updates on key risk indicators. This role requires a deep understanding of the region's political landscape, economic trends, and regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and analysis on political, economic, and security related risks in Latin American countries, utilizing a variety of data sources and methodologies.

  • Monitor and assess key risk indicators, including political stability, regulatory changes, protests, and strike risks.

  • Provide timely and accurate written analysis to our clients while keeping our standing content up to date.

  • Generate travel security reports across Latin America and assessment of property damage and terrorism risks.

  • Provide written bespoke reports and presentations to clients with an interest in operating across Latin America.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in international relations, political science, security related areas or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of Latin American politics, economics, and financial markets.

  • Proven experience in country risk analysis, preferably in the Latin American region.

  • Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear and actionable insights.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is highly desirable.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
