Associate Research Analyst, Latin America Pay TV and Broadband Markets

S&P Global Market Intelligence is growing its Media & Communications research team and is seeking a pay TV and telecom industry analyst to support our global multichannel and broadband coverage. A writer by trade, you will create data-driven articles and reports that make us the best-in-class source of business intelligence in the Media and Communications industry.

As part of our Global Multichannel team, you will be working with a group of experienced media research professionals spread across several global locations.a media research group within S&P Global Market Intelligence's TMT offering, and not for S&P Global Ratings, which is a separately managed division of S&P Global.The business has a casual and friendly atmosphere with an entrepreneurial spirit. Our product is the ultimate resource for complete financial intelligence on the broad and dynamic media and communications sector, including broadcast, cable, IP, mobile and wireless television and video distribution as well as broadband telecoms and online media services.

The Impact:

As an Associate Research Analyst, you will have the opportunity to drive our thought leadership for the pay TV and broadband industries in Latin America, in addition to covering topics including TV everywhere, virtual multichannel services, and the evolution of operator business models. This role requires the capability to understand Latin American media - telecommunications company financials and strategies, synthesize fast changing dynamics, anticipate market movement from current and past trends, and draw actionable conclusions and market intelligence.

  • Conduct financial and strategic analysis of the sector

  • Develop models and forecast for the telecommunications industry

  • Write in-depth research articles related to the pay TV and broadband industry

  • Create and maintain proprietary datasets not available anywhere else

  • Propose new report ideas and suggesting new coverage areas

  • Interact with industry leaders, clients, reporters, and other S&P Global teams

  • Collaborate with internal teams to generate press citations and quotes

What we re looking for:

Strong analytical and writing backgrounds with the confidence to digest large amounts of information into concise analysis, perform phone and in-person interviews with high-level executives, and give presentations to large groups.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2 to 3 year experience working as an analyst in media research or across the pay TV or telecommunications industry

  • Ability to work independently, self-manage your schedule, and meet demanding deadlines while coordinating with team in different locations and time zones

  • Strong financial and analytical skills

  • Have exceptional written and verbal communications skills

    • MS Office - Word - PowerPoint - Excel use, and experience in developing models and forecasts for the pay TV or telecom sector

    • Required Education:*

    Undergraduate degree

  • Full professional English and Spanish proficiency

  • Some travel required
