Sustainable Finance Research Assistant - LATAM
Sao Paulo or Mexico City
The analyst will help support a Lead Analyst for LATAM for all matters sustainable Finance. This will include supporting in research and in the development of our ESG Evaluation. The analyst will report to Americas Team Lead for Sustainable Finance.
Sustainable Finance Team has a growing Americas component. We are responsible for developing and growing new sustainability projects, as well as helping to embed ESG in Credit Ratings.
Given increased relevance of ESG in financial markets, this role will help improve S&P s credibility in addressing this major risk. It also represents a significant area of potential growth for the company, as ESG has become a priority across S&P Global in recent years and will continue to be going forward. It will involve working with numerous influential internal stakeholders on ESG issues.

Some Travel Ability
Conducting research and analysis of ESG, environmental and climate-related risks, and how these could impact credit quality over the short, medium and long term. This work should result in the publication of research commentaries that are widely read by the investment community.
Supporting to the Head of Sustainable Finance and his team in product development and market outreach activities such as industry conferences, which may involve occasional travel
Interacting with credit rating analytical teams to facilitate the inclusion of appropriate environmental, social, and governance factors in credit risk analysis and industry-based publications.
Assisting interactions with external clients, including meeting with management teams in support of our credit ratings and the development and deployment of new sustainable finance products.
Be a champion of analytical and customer service excellence in the sustainable finance field
What We re Looking For:
Bachelor s degree with courses in Sustainability, Finance and Environmental Management.
1-2 years work experience
Knowledge of (and interest in) ESG, Sustainability, responsible investing, Environmental and Climate Finance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate databases:*
charting, pivot tables and Excel (functions and logical tests).
Ability to work on PowerPoint presentations
Able to work independently as well as team oriented
Resourceful, capable of gathering information from various internal and external sources to summarize trends and themes.
High level of adaptability and flexibility
Pursuit of Chartered Financial Analyst or Graduate Degree
Ability to speak Spanish and Portuguese
