About the role: Reporting into the Internal Communications Lead, this role will help enact the Market Intelligence Communications Team’s internal communications strategy across the 18,000+ global employee population. You will help the MI Communications team and our senior stakeholders create, execute, and manage internal communication strategies while highlighting our culture, promoting our values, and enhancing internal understanding of our division’s strategy.

The Team: You will be a part of a global team where you will flex and provide support where needed. You be equally a strategist and tactician with hyper-vigilant attention to detail, and have the ability to manage and execute complex communications plans with little direction. We are seeking an excellent writer and storyteller who can operate in a fast-paced environment to develop effective, executive-ready content and act as a trusted communication partner.

Responsibilities and Impact

  • Help execute internal communications that align with MI’s internal company messaging and tone, including business and cultural priorities, and ensure they are consistent with the enterprise.

  • Write, write, and write some more! You will be one of the key writers on our team; you will draft communications on behalf of our leaders, write stories for our intranet, produce our monthly newsletter, and execute on communications plans for key initiatives and major internal milestones.

  • Plan and prepare effective, thoughtful, and engaging communications that educate, inform, connect, and inspire employees.

  • Operate tools such as Contact Monkey, Smartsheet, Canva, and Vidyard and continuously explore new tools that help enhance our internal communications processes.

  • Partner with fellow team members and senior stakeholders to develop communications plans, coordinate town halls, fireside chats, roundtables, and other internal events, and formulate FAQs, key messages, and other internal resources.

  • Work with a global mindset that is educated and sensitive to geographic and cultural differences.

  • Be a proactive team player who is able to take broad concepts and minimal direction to create dynamic and engaging communications plans.

  • Be agile, collaborative, transparent, and assume positive intent across the team and internal stakeholders.

Functional & Business Knowledge

  • Understanding of the global financial markets and a willingness to learn and understand the S&P Global Market Intelligence business.

  • Must have excellent written and oral communication, editing, and presentation skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with employees across all levels of the organization.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of navigating complex situations and providing innovative solutions.

  • Ability to work within a team across multiple time zones, balancing competing priorities, and on tight deadlines. Proven track record of thriving in fast-paced and changing environments.

  • Ability to own tasks and projects start to finish with minimal oversight, know when to escalate challenges, and produce a finished project that meets or exceeds expectations.

  • Out-of-the-box thinking to determine the best channel to use for any kind of messaging – with an eye to developing new channels as needed.

  • Exceptional organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Qualifications:

  • Having a Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in Communications, Journalism, writing, marketing, or related fields is preferred.

  • 3+ years’ experience working in a corporate environment or Corporate Communications department.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

  • Demonstrated experience with using analytics to measure the effectiveness of communications strategies and campaigns.

  • Highly proficient in digital literacy

  • Knowledge of basic CMS

  • Knowledge of basic graphic design

  • Knowledge of Contact Monkey or other email software preferred

  • Project management skills preferred
