Global Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Internship

The Location:

New York, New York

The Team:

The role supports the S&P Global Market Intelligence & Platts FP&A team focused on the preparation and delivery of key forecasting, planning & strategic initiatives across both business divisions.

The Impact:

Reporting to the Director of Finance Automation, Analytics, and Business Operations, the individual will play an integral role in the delivery of high-impact strategic projects as well as the digital transformation initiative supporting the Division CFO and Head of FP&A.

The role will provide a unique learning opportunity for the right candidate to collaborate with Senior Finance Leaders on critical, cutting-edge projects with a broad scope including but not limited to quantitative analysis, finance transformation and business strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and execution of key workflows to support critical strategic projects

  • Manage active project dashboard and provide daily status updates for Senior Finance Leaders

  • Compile project performance metrics highlighting key takeaways, success measures, and efficiencies for primary stakeholders

  • Prepare detailed financial analytics that will support strategic, data-driven decisions

  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of presentations and executive summaries to Senior Finance Leaders

  • Cross-divisional collaboration with key finance & strategy business partners

  • Coordinate weekly team meeting content and prepare necessary materials

Skills & Qualifications:

  • All majors welcome. Preferably business administration with concentration in Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Data Analysis.

  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic self-starter who embraces challenges

  • Strong analytical capabilities

  • Attention to detail and results oriented with a strong desire to learn

  • Strong communication and time-management skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel (modeling experience a plus)

  • Ability to deliver detailed, accurate results on a timely basis

    • Basic understanding of data visualization and analytics software:*

    e.g., Tableau, Alteryx (R or Python a plus)

  • Works well in a team environment
