The Team:

Energy Price Group is responsible for driving price assessment methodology in the energy sectors that Platts reports on. From our Asian hub in Singapore the team conducts extensive research across the region to support methodology change and our price assessment process in energy commodity markets.

The Impact:

The individual will focus on all aspects of methodology development, including the conceptualization of new ideas, ensuring that change management processes are followed and for reviewing and approving amendments, as defined in Platts editorial standards. He or she will work alongside the market reporting and price assessment teams and their management, to ensure methodology development is conducted in line with Platts governance model, and is aligned with the IOSCO Principles for Price Reporting Agencies and EBMR.

  • Responsible for driving market - methodology development regionally working with the senior leadership teams and regional content heads. Work closely with other methodology development specialists and price group operations to ensure alignment - share knowledge - ideas and resource projects efficiently. Collaborate with other functional groups such as BCQ, Sales and Marketing.

  • Advise and partner with the Sector heads and Senior management on market and methodology development - new markets - methodology development

    • Engage with internal and external Stakeholders of methodology change process
  • Document key change procedures and processes around methodology development - change projects - aligned to editorial governance process

    • Contributes to news, analysis and other types of content where appropriate

    • Present at industry events on area of specialism and engage externally

  • Act as regional - sector escalation point - deal with price assessment complaints & escalate appropriately to ensure resolution. Jointly approve corrections as needed in line with editorial standards. Liaise and support MOC Operations PG review process when required.

What We re Looking For:

  • Proven leadership in methodology development and handling disputes - strong problem and conflict resolution

  • Subject matter expert in energy commodities - trading - markets and the competitive landscape and specialized knowledge of at least one commodity sector.

    • Proven strong interpersonal and relationship building skills and ability to influence across the organization.

    • Assertive with independent mind who operates with facts and pushes back with respect

    • Strong presentation skills to present at industry events, professional associations and conferences.

    • Good written & presentations skills are required given the high level of internal and external communication

    • Tenacity and strong decision making ability and ability to gain buy-in to decisions and drive issues to completion.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Degree educated (business, finance, economics, etc..) with 4 years in pricing with a detailed knowledge of assessment methods and processes for executing changes to pricing methodology and the introduction of new pricing assessments.
